Serving Fremont Residents
Fremont Township strives to promote quality living through quality leisure. To this end, the Parks & Recreation Department emphasizes well maintained and equipped parks, playgrounds and open space, clean and efficient facilities, and a commitment to the overall well being of the community.
The Township owns and operates two parks, Behm Homestead and Ivanhoe Community. Both parks are open sunrise to sunset April 1st through the first snowfall of each year.
We are happy that our parks serve over 1,000 children and that over 600 games a year are played on our fields.
Behm Park is located at 22222 Behm Road which is a 1/2 mile east of Route 60 at Peterson Road and amenities include: baseball, football, soccer, lacrosse fields, three pickleball courts and a restroom facility. The park also features a 1.7 mile walking trail with fitness stations and a playground with an adaptable swing. The current user groups utilizing the park are the Lake County Lightning, Lake County Stallions Football/LaCrosse, and the Mundelein Soccer Club.
Ivanhoe Park is located at 29022 Route 83, Mundelein, IL. Fremont Township has a community partnership with Mundelein Little League which allows any township resident to register for the Mundelein Baseball and Softball Association program without paying out-of-district fees.
