Police Urge You To Lock Your Car

The Mundelein Police Department strongly encourages residents to be mindful of important security measures to be taken in neighborhoods, homes, and automobiles. The MPD has noticed an increase in vehicle burglaries over the course of the last few months. In most of the cases, the vehicles have been left unlocked.

“Residents must be diligent about locking up their cars, garages, and residences. Be sure to not leave laptops, cell phones, purses, backpacks, and other expensive items in your vehicle which would be visible to the passerby,” explains Eric Guenther, Police Chief.

Residents are asked to look for and report any suspicious behavior or people in your neighborhood. The non-emergency phone number to the Mundelein Police Department is 847-968-4600 and be sure to call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
