2014 General Election Information & Dates
The election of Federal, State and County officials will be on the November 4 General Election ballot.
Fremont Township voters can visit www.LakeVoterPower.info for one click access to all election information after confirming voter registration with your address. The Voter Power landing page offers links to districts serving your address, current elected officials, a preview of your official ballot as well as early and Election Day voting site information. You can also request a ballot by mail and track your voted ballot’s return to the County Clerk. Residents without Internet access are welcome to stop by or call the Township for assistance at 847-223-2858. NOTE: A new law extends the voter registration and early voting periods for the 2014 General Election.
Please make note of the following important election dates:
September 25, 2014 – First day to vote by mail
October 7, 2014 – Close of Voter Registration at the Township Clerk’s office
October 8, 2014 – Grace Period Registration/Address Change begins at the Lake County Clerk’s office (18 N. County Street, Waukegan)
October 20, 2014 – First day for early voting
Grace Period Registration/Address Change begins at the Lake County Permit Facility (500 N. Milwaukee Road, Libertyville)
October 30, 2014 – Last day to request a ballot by mail (Returned ballot must be postmarked by midnight on November 3rd)
November 2, 2014 – Last day for early voting
November 4, 2014 – GENERAL ELECTION and last day for Grace Period Registration/Address Change at the County Clerk’s Office and designated Permanent Early Voting locations.
VOTER REGISTRATION
If you have moved or changed your name, you must update your voter registration information. You may register to vote if you have met the following requirements:
- Must be United States Citizen.
- Must be 18 years of age to vote in a General Election.
- Must be a resident of your Lake County precinct address for 30 days immediately prior to an election.
Two forms of identification are required to register through a deputy registrar:
- At least one of the two forms must show your name and current address (i.e. driver’s license, state ID card).
- Only one form of identification may be a piece of mail for a contractual service addressed and delivered to you.
