Message from the Township Supervisor
Dear Fremont Residents
Our office administers general assistance and emergency assistance to residents with financial hardships in Fremont Township.
Our food pantry serves over 1,000 people a year and we have a wonderful organic garden run by Fremont Township Resident Alicia Dodd that provides fresh produce to our low-income seniors and neighbors in need. The success of our garden is due to our volunteers. Thanks to our generous donors, we received beef, pork and lamb from the Lake County Fair which is sustaining some of our residents. We appreciate the food drives by local schools, churches, businesses, neighborhoods, Scout Troops, the Post Office, Park on Park and the annual Grand Dominion Car Show.
Our goal is to help our unemployed residents become re-employed. The job fairs, interviewing techniques and resume help are vital. If there are residents you feel we need to be aware of, please refer them to us.
Our parks are enjoyed by over 2,000 children a year enjoying football, baseball, lacrosse, soccer and a large playground. Upon request from residents in Fremont Township, we re-purposed our basketball court at Behm Park into three pickleball courts. We are getting rave reviews on the courts.
Thank you to our CERT Organization who are available to help in emergencies and have been called out in storms. They worked so hard this year holding classes and providing outreach and information to help keep our residents safe.
Are you aware of our community room at the Township facility? There is no fee and it is available for community events such as scouting, homeowners' associations, and club meetings. Please call 847-223-2847 for additional information. Our bridge group meets on Mondays, but if you would like to get a pinochle, poker or mahjong group together, just let us know. We have 10 card tables and can accommodate you.
Are you receiving my email newsletter? Please join the 5,000 residents who do. You will receive emergency information, road closings, public hearings, and be in the know of what's happening in our area. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you need to reach me, call me on my cell at 847-833-1019. If you are a Facebook user, please "like" our Fremont Township page.
