The Township Supervisor serves as chief executive officer of the township. The Supervisor’s duties and responsibilities include serving as Chairman of the Township Board of Trustees, Supervisor of the General Assistance and Emergency Assistance programs and treasurer of all funds.

Our office also administers Low Income Heating Assistance, Nicor Sharing, ComEd Care Assistance Program, works through the Department of Aging for seniors and disabled to help with RTA/Metra Free Ride Pass and the license plate discount for those who meet the income requirements.

We are also the Salvation Army extension for all residents with the zip code 60060.

Additionally, we operate the food pantry, are a free notary and a place to register to vote.

Townships don’t all have the same services.  Many years ago Fremont Township surveyed the constituency and found the residents wanted the township to purchase land and build a park for the residents.  The township created Behm Park.

If you haven’t been to Behm Park, it is located at 22222 Behm Park Lane by Saddlebrook Farms. It is a 21.6 mile park which includes baseball, football, soccer and lacrosse fields. The park features a 1.7 mile walking trail with fitness stations and a playground with an adaptable swing.  Over 600 games a year are played on these fields.  With our growing senior population, we had requests for pickle ball courts and in 2015 we added them to the park.

Fremont Township also owns the Ivanhoe Club Community Park on Route 83 which was donated to the township years ago.  We have one field there the baseball players love because they can play under the lights.
